It’s hard to believe that Mitchell Starc has played a mere two seasons of the IPL. It was back in 2014 that the left-arm fast bowler was first picked and it was Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for INR 5 crore. He was their premier fast bowler as he took 34 wickets from 27 games at an average of 20.38.

However, in the subsequent seasons, he was injured and hence, was let go by RCB right before the 2017 auctions. In 2018, he was a hot pick and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) broke the bank and got him at INR 9.4 crore. His white-ball skills were secret to none.

However, Starc pulled out of the IPL a couple of weeks before it started. He suffered from tibial bone stress in his right leg in the Test series in South Africa. Hence, it was the third successive season that Starc missed due to injury.
