David Bairstow played as a wicketkeeper for England in the period from 1979 to 1984. The right-hander played four Tests and 21 ODIs for his country in which he managed to score a half-century. He played 459 first-class matches for Yorkshire county apart from playing football for Bradford as well.

While David could not play much international cricket, his son Jonny Bairstow has enjoyed his stay in international cricket so far. The right-hander has been in the form of his life in the last few months and has redeemed himself in the Test format. The 32-year-old is quite versatile and has played in different batting positions in limited overs format.

Bairstow has so far played 87 Tests, 95 ODIs, and 63 T20Is and has plundered a lot of bowling attacks with his physical strength. Bairstow can keep wickets as well and he is one of the most destructive batters going around in the current era.
