4. Harbhajan Singh
It was the first edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). And the stage was set after an exciting inaugural game in Bangalore. With multiple franchises fighting it out on the cricket field, the fans were always waiting for more action every day. However, during an IPL game consisting of Mumbai Indians and KXIP, everybody witnessed Harbhajan Singh slapping S Sreesanth.
After the match, Harbhajan slapped the Indian seamer. Later on, the off-spinner was fined, and the penalty was a fine of 100 percent match fees. This incident also included the involvement of Mumbai’s coach Lalchand Rajput. He was fined 50 percent of his match fee.
Singh was found guilty of level 4.2 offense and later on, the matter was cleared out in the public by then IPL chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi at a press conference. For Singh, his actions resulted in a temporary ban from the Indian Premier League. It looks like, outside the international arena, he had few rifts in the IPL too. However, after the incident, both Singh and Sreesanth tried to downplay the incident. But, the damage was already done.
