3. Darren Lehmann (RR)
A name very popularly remembered in the IPL as a coach, it might come as a surprise for many to see Darren Lehmann as a player. The former Australian all-rounder, who was a part of two World Cup-winning squads in 1999 and 2003, was in the fag end of his career and interestingly, his stint in the IPL was his last professional assignment as a player.
Lehmann was picked up by the Rajasthan Royals in the first edition. He got to play two games for the side, scoring just 18 runs. Rajasthan Royals went on to win the trophy quite convincingly under the stewardship of Shane Warne and that was Lehmann’s first IPL winning medal.
The next one didn’t take time, but it came as a head coach. Deccan Chargers appointed him as the head coach in 2009 and the side went on to win the trophy after an enthralling finale in Johannesburg.
