It is often seen that the players keep spitting on the ground during the match. Rather it has become a common scene now with the matches being televised across the world. Though it isn’t considered an offence, laws could get stricter in the wake of the Coronavirus debacle after the resumption of the game.

Interestingly, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had warned its players to not spit on the ground in 2013 when they had altered their already strict disciplinary code. According to a report in Daily Telegraph, it was clearly told to the players that they could face disciplinary action if they spit while playing.

However, ICC is yet to deem it as an offence and things might change in the near future. With thousands of people watching the match and 22 players playing the game in the middle, spitting could turn out to be dangerous.
