4. Shakib Al Hasan
There’s no questioning Shakib Al Hasan’s prowess on the field. The all-rounder is arguably the greatest cricketer Bangladesh have ever produced. Irrespective of the formats, the Jessore-born has weaved magic at the highest level.
However, his temperament has often been questioned and he has had to pay heavy prices. On December 2018, the ICC fined him 15 per cent of match fees for shouting at the umpires. In the 2018 Nidahas Trophy, he was in the thick of things after the Tigers threatened to fortify one of the matches against Sri Lanka.
In October 2019, the 33-year-old Shakib was dealt with a body blow. He failed to report three corrupt approaches from the bookmakers. When the incident came to the fore, the ICC handed him a one-year suspension and he will only be able to return in October 2020.
