4. Ajinkya Rahane (32 years)
The Maharashtra-born batting prodigy stormed into the Indian Test Team in 2013 against heavyweight Australia. Subsequently, he became a regular in the format after he slammed a scintillating century against England at Lord’s in 2014. Displaying his class and suave, he weathered the storm of terrific bowling duo-Stuart Broad and Jimmy Anderson.
The Indian vice-captain has statistics speaking wonders about his talent. Representing the Indian team in Test cricket for 65 matches, Rahane has accumulated 4203 runs at a stunning average of 42.88. The top-order batsman achieved respectable feet donning the blue jersey. However, he found it difficult to become a permanent player.
The 32-year-old may retire from the limited-overs owing to his higher age which is taking a toll on his temperament. Currently, he will be back in action against the formidable Aussies in the four-Test series in the latter’s home turf.
