Amid the competition of getting into the national side, there are many existing players too who have now become a liability for the Indian side.

Stuart Binny had hogged the headlines after scalping six wickets while conceding only four runs in his spell against Bangladesh. In the ODI match against The Tigers, Binny wreaked havoc against the opposition and registered best bowling figures (6/4) by an Indian bowler in ODI cricket.

He was touted to cement his side and establish himself as a genuine pace-bowling all-rounder. However, Binny failed to do so and with the rise of Hardik Pandya, his chances of making his way into the national side were also halted.

The all-rounder managed to play just 14 ODIs for India where he scalped 20 wickets along with scoring 230 runs. The 35-year-old plays for Nagaland in the domestic circuit and considering the age factor and Hardik Pandya-Shivam Dube duo, Binny’s national comeback in limited-overs cricket looks far from possible.
