Under-19s International matches have provided the platform for many youngsters to showcase their talent to the whole world. Many players who represented their countries at this level ended up playing in Internationals at senior level.

Not many of them turned out to be successful in both Under-19 and senior International games. In this article, we look at five major records from U19 Internationals which are on the name of current International players who are considered to be among the top names of their department.

<h3>2. The only centurion in Youth T20I cricket – Quinton de Kock</h3>

<p>The T20I format is not much popular at the Under-19 level as only 12 Youth T20Is have been taken place till date. Only one individual century has been recorded across those 12 matches – <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/i-would-love-to-be-in-quarantine-with-quinton-de-kock-dale-steyn/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Quinton de Kock</strong></a> in 2011. South Africa hosted Zimbabwe Under-19s in a 5-match ODI series and 2-match T20I series. De Kock made his Youth T20I debut during the 2nd game at the Cape Town’s Northerns-Goodwood CC Oval.</p>
<p>Zimbabwe U19s posted 151/8 in their 20 overs after electing to bat first as Roy Kaia scored an unbeaten 60 from 48 balls batting at No.4 position. South Africa lost their skipper Keaton Jennings (Present England Test cricketer) early on and were two down for 68 by 8th over. However, Quinton de Kock took the aggressive route as the keeper-batsman used the field restrictions to find boundaries.</p>
<p>He got to his fifty in 31 balls and took only 20 further deliveries to raise his century and also finish off the chase in only 15.5 overs. De Kock ended up with an unbeaten 102 off 51 balls with help of 13 fours and three maximums. In the very same game, he affected two stumpings and claimed a catch behind the stumps. These are the most dismissals by a wicketkeeper in a Youth T20I thus far.</p>

<h3>1. Most runs in a Youth International series – Shikhar Dhawan</h3>

<p><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/its-pre-isolation-shoaib-malik-takes-a-hilarious-jibe-at-shikhar-dhawan-washing-clothes/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Shikhar Dhawan</strong></a> is known to excel at the major ODI tournaments as he was the top run-getter of the 2013 and 2017 Champions Trophy. He was India’s leading run-scorer during the 2015 World Cup and also during the 2014 and 2018 editions of the Asia Cup. However, Dhawan’s love with the ICC ODI events began in his teens only as he produced record-breaking performances in the 2004 Under-19 World Cup.</p>
<p>Shikhar Dhawan was named the player of that tournament where he amassed 505 runs across only seven matches with help of three hundreds and a fifty. The 505 runs by Dhawan are the most number of runs scored by a player in an edition of U19 CWC. His 505 runs in that tournament are also the most runs ever scored in a Youth ODI series/tournament.</p>
<p>In fact, no player other than Dhawan have managed to score as many as 500 runs in tournament/series in Youth Internationals. Dhawan, in this process, broke the record held by Australia’s Brett Williams with 471 runs during the 1988 U19 CWC. The most number of runs scored by any player in a Youth Test series are 467 runs by Marcus Trescothick during England’s 3-match home Test series against India in 1994.</p>
