Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was hardly in the reckoning before he moved to the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Haryana cricketer was first with the Mumbai Indians but couldn’t get any opportunities. Moreover, he didn’t play much first-class cricket which was another downside.

But with the RCB, Chahal was backed to the core by Virat Kohli. In the 2014 season, he was great. He picked a lot of wickets in the UAE leg of the tournament. Although he couldn’t account for many wickets in India, he was economical and bowled well in the small Chinnaswamy stadium that impressed many.

As a result, he was with the team for the next season as well and became Virat Kohli’s go-to man in crunch situations. His ability to hit accurate areas and his deceptive googly helped him stand apart. Since he got to display his talent on such a wonderful platform, the leg-spinner didn’t require much time to break into the Indian team.
