With such an abundance of experience with him, one would expect quality cricket from him. He is the veteran in the team. Ian Bell has shown that he can play better than most of the players in the England squad but has failed to capitalise on the starts. His performance in the middle order will play a crucial role in the upcoming series. In the 2012 series, Bell had a very tough time against Pakistan and was harassed by Saeed Ajmal. He had an embarrassing batting average of 8.50 in the series. Bell has solid technique and when in full flow he is a treat to watch. He has enjoyed success in Asian conditions and has had memorable performances in subcontinent condition.
