Pragyan Ojha was once considered as one of the best left-arm spinners in India. Originally from Orissa, he moved to Hyderabad in search of some better education facilities. He was mentored by Venkatpathy Raju and Hyderabad coach Kanwaljit Singh during his heydays. He has bamboozled many international batsmen with his loop and bounce which he gets from the wicket due to his height.

He made his ODI debut in 2008 against Bangladesh and had a decent outing. However, he is considered more of a Test match specialist with 113 wickets in 24 Test matches at an average of 30.27. His ODI record is not that bad with 21 wickets from 18 matches at an economy rate of 4.47. In order to lengthen the Indian batting, he was dropped from the team in all formats and was replaced by Ravindra Jadeja who is also a left-arm spinner and is a much better batsman and fielder than Ojha. With plenty of spin bowling options available for team India, it is highly unlikely that we will see Pragyan representing India in the 50-over format in the future.
