Harinishant was snapped by the Chennai Super Kings franchise in the 2021 IPL auction due to his recent exploits in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021. He was part of the winning Tamil Nadu squad and smashed 246 runs in the season at an average of 41.

He also played a vital innings of 35 runs in the finale. He marked his first-class debut in 2019 for his home team in the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy. He might be the next big finisher for India in making.

Though India is currently equipped with some of the best finishers like Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja, Harinishanth might become a reserved choice for the team in 2023 World Cup if he continues his impressive work on the field.
