Tom Moody led Sunrisers Hyderabad to a famous IPL triumph in 2016, something no one saw coming. Sunrisers were terrific in the 2017 edition as well but succumbed to Kolkata Knight Riders in the Eliminator. Moody saw a potential leader in David Warner and appointed him as the captain in 2015.

Not many trusted he would do the job for his coach but Warner has impressed one and all with his leadership qualities. Many experts rate him as one of the best captains in the world right now and he should take over the reigns as the Australian skipper as well, replacing Steve Smith. Tom Moody was an integral part of Sunrisers and David Warner’s incredible rise to fame over the course of time.

One reason why Moody is the top most contender to get this post is his cool and collective attitude and the cordial relationship he maintains with players. Sehwag might be the pick of the lot for many, but Moody actually is the one’s whose most likely to get a nod considering his past record.
