Some cricketers succeed in their cricketing journey because of their grit and sheer determination to play for the country. Hemang Badani is one such individual who played a handful of games for the Indian team in the early 2000s. In his playing days, he used to be a useful lower-order batsman in white-ball cricket. However, he has also played 4 Test matches being the opener of the side.

After a poor run in the national set-up coupled with the controversial ICL stint he never donned the India jersey again. Still, he stayed connected to the game by playing the Ranji Trophy ties. Then after his retirement, he started commentary work for domestic cricket leagues. He is also serving as an expert in various cricket shows. So recently in one of his interviews, he also shared his perspective on Hitman’s promotion to the opening slot in the Test circuit.

According to Badani, the selectors are sending a wrong message to the cricketers who are grinding it out in the domestic arena. He slammed them for not rewarding consistent performers like Priyank Panchal and Abhimanyu Easwaran. He went onto add that the team should use their good form to their advantage. Hemang also showed his disappointment by tweeting Easwaran’s recent batting records which is very difficult to ignore.
