The Pakistan team has repeatedly served the international cricket with bowling kahunas and Shoaib Akhtar was one of them. The speedster was a terror force with the ball in the early 2000s. In 1999 World Cup Akhtar was one of the reasons why the Asian side made it to the finals as he had fished 16 wickets in 10 games. He used sheer pace to unsettle the batsmen which provided the audience with relentless action.

Throughout his career, the Rawalpindi Express has been part of many rights and wrongs which made him one of the poster boys of Pakistan cricket. Akhtar was a lean and fit cricketer in his young days. In the latter part of his career, he became a chubby character but he never compromised his primary asset due to which injuries plagued him regularly.

One such incident occurred in 2009 when he was out of the team due to his knee injury. At this point in time, the speedster visited a plastic surgeon and within hours media began circulating the news that Akhtar has undergone liposuction to remove the excess weight from the body. The fast bowler refuted the claims and clarified that he visited the clinic to meet one of his doctor friends. Along with it, there was another gossip which stated that Pakistan cricket didn’t approve the pacer’s surgery expenses which was even more bizarre.
