The second session of the second Test match at the Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg witnessed some mid-pitch conversations between the two former Mumbai Indians teammates. The conversation between the two pacers looked quite ugly where umpire had to come in between to calm the things a bit. This incident became the center of attraction for various media houses.

Rassie Van der Dussen’s dismissal in the first inning of the second Test match had involved a controversial catch by <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/it-actually-worked-out-very-well-for-us-rassie-van-der-dussen-on-spat-with-rishabh-pant-at-wanderers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rishabh Pant.</a> Afterward, when Pant came out to bat, Van der Dussen was fielding at short leg and was complaining about his dismissal to the Indian keeper. Pant replied, “If you have half-knowledge, then keep your mouth shut”.
Rassie was successful to get the attention of Pant and the southpaw played a rash shot and got out for a duck. Rishabh Pant being Rishabh Pant, decided to give a tit for tat to the Proteas batter and straightaway started talking to him when he came to bat at number four. He said, “He’s playing as a sledger”.
The keeper kept on talking saying, “He’s taking guard after every four-five balls. He bat’s at number four but he has no idea where his guard is”. The conversation got noticed in the commentary box too. Mark Nicholas said, “Pant is just giving Van der Dussen a tit for tat” to which Sunil Gavaskar replied, “Let me tell you Pant is giving him a lot more tit than tat.”

<h3>3. The Bumrah-Jansen Banter</h3>

The second session of the second Test match at the Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg witnessed some mid-pitch conversations between the two former Mumbai Indians teammates. The conversation between the two pacers looked quite ugly where umpire had to come in between to calm the things a bit. This incident became the center of attraction for various media houses.
In the 54th over of India’s second innings, Jansen bowled a shortish delivery which hit Bumrah on the shoulder. After a couple of balls, Jansen again attempted a bouncer and once again it struck Bumrah on the shoulder but the Indian pacer showed no signs of pain. Jansen got pissed off and gave a stare to Bumrah and the Jasprit stared back. They both exchanged some words.
The situation immediately got the umpires into the scenes. But Bumrah was not yet done. In the next over, Kagiso Rabada bowled a bouncer and the ball took the edge of Bumrah’s bat and went for a six. <h3>4. Mayank Agarwal’s DRS Dismissal</h3>

Some of the DRS decisions in the India-South Africa series were very surprising. <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/shubman-gill-or-prithvi-shaw-might-replace-mayank-agarwal-in-the-indian-test-side-going-forward-harbhajan-singh/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mayank Agarwal’s</a> wicket in India’s first innings on the first day of the first Test match was one of those controversial DRS decisions. Agarwal was batting brilliantly with co-opener KL Rahul in the first innings and they made a crucial 117 runs partnership.
Agarwal was batting on 60 and he was eyeing his first Test hundred on foreign soil. Lungi Ngidi’s quick-ball hit Mayank’s pads. He was given out by the umpire and immediately he reviewed the decision without any hesitation. The ball-tracking showed that the ball would hit the top of the leg-stump which was a big surprise for all the players and cricket fans as they thought it is going down the leg side.
Interestingly, despite the ball was just touching the stump still it flashed that it is hitting the stumps. The option of umpire’s call was not considered by the third umpire. And this was not the only time that this thing happened in the series. Mayank was seen disappointed after getting out. Later talking to the media, he said, “I am not allowed to give my opinion and so I want to leave it at that. Otherwise, I will be in bad books and my money could be docked”.

<h3>5. Virat Kohli’s sudden step down from Test captaincy</h3>

After the completion of the eventful Test series in which India had to suffer a loss, Virat Kohli dropped a bombshell by quitting Test captaincy that left every Indian cricket fan heartbroken. Virat Kohli used his social media accounts to share this news. Earlier he was dealing with one controversy after another as he was removed from ODI captaincy and then,  he decided to step down from T20 captaincy.

In the recent past, he has had tense relations with the BCCI. He was handed over Test captaincy when MS Dhoni announced retirement from Test cricket in the middle of the Test series in Australia in 2014. Then, India was at number seven in the ICC Test rankings.
Virat Kohli took India to the number one position and India ruled Test cricket for five years. Virat said, “Everything has to come to a half at some stage and for me as Test captain of India, it’s now”. These words of Virat Kohli were all over the social media platforms. He added to his statement saying, “There have been many ups and also some downs along the journey but there has never been a lack of effort or lack of belief.”
