Cricket is quite religiously followed in India and cricketers are considered as role models by the upcoming generation. There is no doubt that millions of individuals want to play for the country. But very few individuals manage to do that in their life.
However, the ones that represent India in cricket have some similar kind of qualities like patience, perseverance and determination. Interestingly, these qualities are usually found in individuals working in government jobs, which are equally difficult to crack as far as India is concerned.
Meanwhile, there are some cricketers, who have been rewarded with some good posts in the government sector. Though these players didn’t have to appear for any examination but were bestowed with dignified designation as government officers (officials) as they proved their worth by delivering astonishing performances on the field.

1. Deepti Sharma
Deepti Sharma, the India women’s all-rounder, was bestowed with the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) by the Uttar Pradesh government. The 26-year-old Arjuna Award winner received a cash prize of Rs 3 crore and was felicitated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with the honour. The UP CM handed over the appointment letter, expressing his best wishes for her future endeavours.
Deepti has been a huge part of the Indian women’s team’s success. Having made her debut for India in 2014, the prolific all-rounder has featured in 4 Tests for India Women and has scored 318 runs and scalped 16 wickets so far. In 86 ODIs, she has 1982 runs with a best of 188 and 12 fifties. Deepti’s 188 is the highest individual score by an Indian in Women’s ODI cricket. She has also taken 100 wickets with a best of 6/20. Deepti has 1015 runs and 113 wickets in 104 T20Is as well.
