5 Indian players who are picked in the World Cup squad for first time
These players have been in and around the team for a while thus making a strong case for their selection.
3. Yuzvendra Chahal
The Haryana born leg-spinner is currently ranked eighth in the ICC ODI bowlers ranking and has made a name for himself in the last three years with his wicket-taking abilities in the middle overs. Chahal is known for his skiddy bowling action and accurate line and length. He likes to lure the batsmen with his flight and is not afraid of leaking runs as he emphasizes more on taking wickets than containing runs.
He has picked 72 wickets in just 41 ODI matches at an economy of 4.89 runs per over. He along with Kuldeep Yadav form a formidable spin bowling combo that can pick wickets in a cluster and change the course of the game in the middle overs.
The spinner playing his first World Cup in England will look to continue his impressive run in the limited-overs format and produce some match winning performances for his country.
