Shivam Dube was an unknown commodity for many before the IPL 2019 auction. But Royal Challengers Bangalore spending INR 5 crores on the all-rounder raised quite a few eyebrows. However, his first IPL campaign was far from a fairy tale. Scoring just 40 runs at an average of 13 and failure to take any wicket came like a blow of a hammer on the 25-year-old.

Despite his poor performance in the IPL, Dube was selected in the India A side for the ODIs against Sri Lanka A. The Mumbaikar has taken 5 wickets in 4 games in the on-going tournament, making him India A’s most successful bowler of the tournament thus far. His economy rate of under 5 runs per over is equally impressive. Provided the national selectors decide to give Hardik Pandya some rest, Shivam Dube might get his maiden call.
