Manish Pandey has featured regularly in the India T20 squads after the 2019 World Cup. But he has had to mostly warm the benches. After the away series versus the West Indies, Pandey has played only a solitary T20I against Bangladesh in Nagpur.

Meanwhile, the Nainital-born kept weaving magic for Karnataka in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy where he was the captain of his state team. Pandey had scores of 129*, 52* and an unbeaten 60 in the final versus Tamil Nadu in Surat.

After leading Karnataka to glory in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he repeated the feat in the T20 tournament. The numbers are expected to keep him in a positive frame of mind. Pandey is one player, who should be given a few hits in the middle as it is most likely to boost his confidence to a great extent.
