2. Manoj Tiwary
Even though he has been on the to-be-selected list several times and has been a famous name in the domestic orbit from a long time, Manoj Tiwary has never been able to cement his spot in the Indian team. For the first time, the lad had donned the blue pullover, way back in 2008, however, things haven’t been really well for the 33-year old since then.
After making the international debut in 2008 CB Series, the aggressive batsman got another opportunity three years later i.e. in 2011 WI tour. A few months later, Tiwary also went on to score his maiden ODI century. In the process, the Bengal cricketer kept coming in and going out of the team for the next few years, howbeit, finally in 2017, he played his last game for India in international cricket.
In the same year, the lad scored 507 runs in the domestic season at a mind-boggling average of 126.70. Still, the guy was not selected in India A team next year. This resulted in a cold war between the selectors and Tiwary. “I was hoping to be picked in the India A squads. When somebody performs to his highest, then he should be rewarded,” was what the right-handed batsman said after not being selected.
“And I had an outstanding 50-over tournament last season, creating a record that no one else has had in Indian cricket history.” He concluded.
