Though Stuart Binny is not a popular name in the international circuit he has always been a consistent performer in the Indian domestic arena. With his multi-dimensional skillset, he has also played a handful of games for the Men in Blue. Besides he has also recorded the best bowling figures by an Indian in an ODI game. He scalped 6 wickets in his spell against Bangladesh by conceding mere 4 runs.

Especially the Karnataka cricketer is considered a valuable commodity in the shorter formats because of his all-round game. That’s why he has been a regular member of the IPL bandwagon and has been part of the Rajasthan franchise in 7 seasons. Donning the RR jersey his most successful campaign came in 2013 but it is mostly remembered for his connections with the IPL fixing saga.

In late 2014 when the Supreme Court of India disclosed some of the names from the Mudgal Committee report it included Binny’s name. At the time the all-rounder was part of the national set-up. Immediately the BCCI stated that they will look into the matter.

Thereafter further details emerged that his name came up as a passing remark in several interrogations. However, no evidence of his wrongdoing was found out and that’s why he was not questioned by the panel. In the end, Stuart got the clean chit from the BCCI which put the whole matter to rest.
