5 IPL teams and their EPL equivalents
These teams have fared similarly in IPL and EPL over the years.
5. Royal Challengers Bangalore – Tottenham Hotspur
The team from Bangalore has always been the underachievers of the league, as they never play to their potential. At the start of every season, the Virat Kohli-led side are the favourites among the fans to lift the title but they get bogged down under the weight of expectations. The Challengers are also known as Bold Army, but in 12 seasons the franchise has never won a championship. Over the years, the team has been served by some proven match-winners, but they have failed to click as a unit which is a similar characteristic of the EPL team Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham has been one of the most compatible sides in the last decade of EPL but the team has always buckled under pressure and a championship win has eluded them. The Spurs are nicknamed as the Lilywhites. Like RCB they have struggled with a proper defending unit, and they are the team that has conceded the most goals in the EPL history.
Spurs completely rely on their hero Harry Kane which is similar to the Bangalore team’s dependence on the Indian maverick Virat Kohli and in every season players from both the sides provide individual brilliance, but not a collective effort.
