A 20-year-old youngster from Buckinghamshire, Tom Banton was a relatively unknown figure in the fraternity but with a strong performance in the T20 blast for Somerset. He finished as the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament, only behind Pakistan’s newly minted T20I skipper Babar Azam.

Banton was a part of the U19 English side in the 2018 World Cup, but he rose to prominence with his fireworks in the T20 Blast this time. The attacking opener is also a top-quality wicket-keeper, which could be a great option for the Royal Challengers who currently rely on Parthiv Patel to do the opening and keeping duties.

He scored 549 runs in the 13 innings he has played, at an average in excess of 40 and a strike-rate of 161.47. He’s explosive and can play for long durations, making him a perfect option for Bangalore. The 20-year-old has caught some attention but might not cost a lot at the auction table being a foreign batsman.
