2. Winning a match as captain against 11 oppositions
Virat Kohli is often under the criticism for his underwhelming record as a captain when it comes to the IPL. However, in terms of winning, he does hold a unique captaincy record in the IPL. He has led the RCB team against as many as 11 opponents thus far and his team stood on the winning side in at least one match against all those 11 teams.
In addition to the current seven rival teams, Kohli led the RCB against Deccan Chargers, Pune Warriors India, Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiant. He also won all the three matches as captain he played against the RPS team. Only two captains in the history of IPL have won a match against more than 10 different opponents. Gautam Gambhir won against a record total of 12 teams as captain in this league.
Captaining both Delhi and Kolkata franchises he played for helped Gambhir to top the list. Gambhir, in fact, captained against 13 different teams with the Kochi Tuskers Kerala being the 13th side. KKR lost both the matches against the Kochi team during the 2011 edition. MS Dhoni, Adam Gilchrist and Rohit Sharma are placed at 3rd spot in this list having won at least one match against ten different sides.
