4. Virat Kohli gave Tendulkar a special gift after his retirement

In 2013, when Sachin Tendulkar decided to retire from international cricket, it was a very emotional moment for every India cricket fan. The world witnessed probably the most emotional Test match on Indian soil as it was almost like the end of an era. For Kohli, who was in the dressing room at the time, it was also quite emotional. In an interview, Sachin had revealed that on his retirement day, Virat had given a pouch that contained some threads. Tendulkar also mentioned that Kohli at the time told him that pouch was gifted by his father to him. Kohli had said, “I want you to have this. It was given to me by my father. And I want you to have this.”

The two players shared a great bond until today. Kohli has always credited Tendulkar for helping him during the early stages of his career. The Indian captain also credited the Master Blaster for helping during the time when he wasn’t able to score runs.
