Afghanistan chinaman bowler Zahir Khan was supposed to make his IPL debut in 2018 for Rajasthan Royals, but was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury. He recently made his Test debut for Afghanistan against Bangladesh and picked 3 wickets providing big support to Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

Zahir Khan has had an impressive career so far with 51 wickets in 40 T20 matches with a best of 5/19 at an economy of 7.09. He wasn’t picked in the IPL 2019 auction given the small purses that each team had, but this time around, teams are looking for players who can be part of the core group for the next five years or so and here is where the 20-year-old fits in perfectly.

Zahir Khan will turn out for Brisbane Heat, along with his Afghan teammate Mujeeb and will have a chance to take wickets and leave a good impression to become the talk of the town when IPL 2020 auction takes place in December.
