4. Jaydev Undakat
Jaydev Unadkat is one of the many Indian cricketers who showcased his talent right from his U-19 days. That’s why he was even drafted to the senior side as early as in 2010 during the Indian’s team red-ball safari to South Africa. Since then he has remained on the fringes of national selection in all these years owing to his consistent domestic performances.
Even in the IPL, he has made his presence felt with a couple of breakthrough seasons. Especially his match-winning spells in the 2017 edition made him one of the hottest white-ball commodities in the country. He bagged 24 wickets in 12 games and helped the Rising Pune Supergiants reach their maiden IPL final. Following that season, his fortunes have changed drastically as he has been attracting million-dollar deals in the IPL auctions.
Having said that, he has not lived up to his billing as he has picked up only 21 wickets in the last 2 seasons. On top of that, his economy rate of 10.5 puts a serious question-mark on his bowling credentials. To make matters worse, it cost Rajasthan nearly 20 crores for his such mediocre performances which makes him one of the worst buys in the history of the league.
After all this, the Pink team has yet again placed their bets on him and this time it cost them 3 crores. So now if Unadkat fails to make things work in the 13th edition of IPL then a long vacation awaits him.
