5. Aaron Finch
The current ODI skipper of the Australian team, Aaron Finch is considered one of the finest white-ball players to have emerged from the country. His ability to take on bowling attacks and produce match-winning knocks on a regular basis brings him on par with other stars of the team, Steve Smith and David Warner. It is also one of the reasons why he is highly rated in the T20 leagues around the globe including the Indian Premier League.
However, Finch has often experienced a strange love-hate relationship with the IPL. Though he has been a regular in the tournament he has changed his base for as many as 8 times. In simple terms, he has played for 8 teams in his decade long IPL career. It certainly suggests that the right-hander has never been considered a long-term option by any of the franchises. So it was not a surprise when he found a new home in the 2020 IPL auctions.
This time, the Bangalore franchise has invested 5 crores on him for solving their opening conundrum. With his abundant international experience, he might be the perfect solution to their problems. However, if he fails he will be making another exit as the RCB is known for making wholesale changes after every season. At 33 it might be Finch’s final opportunity to define his IPL career so he needs to make it count before the time runs out.
