2. Kyle Jamieson
Although Kyle Jamieson, since his international debut, has been having an ascending ride for New Zealand especially in other formats, in the T20Is, the tall pacer did face his first massive roadblock in the recently concluded home series against Australia. Overall, Jamieson, in his four games, could only scalp one wicket and was seeing leaking runs at an alarming economy of 11.66.
While there’s been rare rust in Jamieson’s short international career, it is expected that he might continue to face dingy days even in the IPL. Because the IPL conditions being alien to him, Jamieson might find it difficult to adjust his overall bowling. However, his proposition of being a tall pacer who extracts steep bounce might be a wicket-taking option in the power plays.
But in terms of death overs bowling, the pacer might face the heat, to some extent if not a whole lot. Also, a whopping price tag of INR 15 crores might make him slip from his radar.
But with his international career exhibiting his attitude of learning things quickly, Jamieson after his few initial games, might head towards having a fruitful IPL. All in all, a prosperous debut IPL season for Jameison might be the need of the hour to achieve bigger breakthroughs for New Zealand.
