He was quickly drafted into the WI side, as the team was going through a turmoil and made his ODI debut in 2013 against AUS. His bowling prowess was on show when he took a 4 wicket haul against Pakistan. Soon after that Holder was given the Test cap against NZ, and he finished the match with figures of 2/50 and 90 runs in the bucket.
Currently, he is the best all-rounder in the ICC Test rankings, as till now, he has 3 centuries and 93 scalps to his name in red-ball cricket. In 2013 auction CSK were filling up their squad with bowlers, and at last, they bagged the rookie Windies bowler Jason Holder. After spending a couple of games in the dugout Holder was given the chance to don yellow jersey against Rajasthan Royals where he finished with figures of 0/30.
MSD backed him as he was hitting good lengths and coupled it with economical spells. In their return tie against RR, Holder bowled a crucial spell of 2/20. He played 6 games under MSD&#8217;s leadership and may have learned few tricks of the trade from the master in his short stint.

<h3>3) Ramesh Powar, IND 2007 :</h3>

Ramesh Powar is an <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/icc-world-cup-2019-dilip-vengsarkar-reveals-surprise-name-as-candidate-for-indias-no-4-spot/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Indian</a> off-spinner who had a short stay with the Indian team during the years 2004-2007. He travelled to PAK with the Indian team where he made his debut in Rawalpindi. In his couple of matches, he was economical but remained wicketless and therefore he was dropped. After having a good domestic season Powar was recalled and impressed immediately with his 3 wicket haul against ENG.
He played a total of 31 ODIs for the Men in Blue and picked up 34 wickets. After Kumble&#8217;s retirement in the home Test series of 2007 against AUS, Dhoni was given the mantle of captaincy for full-time. His first assignment was the 7 match ODI series against the Kangaroos.
At that time Ramesh Powar was a regular in the side because of his economical bowling. The first tie of the series was played at Chennai where Powar conceded 50 runs in 6 overs, but the rain gods intervened and the game was abandoned. In the second match again Powar finished with 0/30 in 5 overs which prompted the team to drop him, and as a result, he played only 2 games under the new skipper.

<h3>4) Ishan Kishan, Jharkhand 2017 :</h3>

In 2016 U19 <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/making-indias-world-cup-squad-will-be-dream-come-true-for-rishabh-pant/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">World Cup</a> a Jharkhand keeper-batsman became the captain of the team and it felt like the history was repeating itself. Ishan Kishan was impressive in his first outing as he led the team to finals. After his national heroics, he quickly showed his class when he scored 273 against Delhi in the Ranji Trophy 2016-17. He was picked up by the Gujarat Lions in 2016 and instantly gained fame with his power game. He was roped by the Mumbai franchise in 2018 and in that season he scored a breathtaking 62 of 21 balls against KKR.
Dhoni was having a lean patch with his bat in the year 2016. At that time the Vijay Hazare trophy was around the corner and the Indian legend decided to practice his skills again in the domestic tournament. Dhoni was named the skipper for his home team Jharkhand and led the side to the glory.
During this time Ishan Kishan was finding his feet in domestic circuit, and under MSD&#8217;s guidance, he improved a lot. One cannot forget his innings of 53 off 40 balls in a low scoring tie against Saurashtra. The innings consisted of 5 sixes and he played a total of 7 games in Dhoni&#8217;s presence as skipper.

<h3>5) Peter Handscomb, RPS 2016 :</h3>

In 2016 when <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/shane-warne-leaves-out-in-form-usman-khawaja-from-his-australia-world-cup-squad/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Australian</a> cricket was going through a batting crisis a young Victorian, Peter Handscomb burst into the scene. He hit the ground running when he scored a debut half-century in his maiden Test innings against the visiting Proteas. He followed it up with a century against Pakistan and impressed everybody with his tactics against spinners when he travelled to India for the 2017 Border-Gavaskar trophy.
Recently Australia won a historic ODI series against India in their den which included a magnificent 117 from Handscomb, and now he is almost certain of his place in the squad for 2019 ENG WC. In 2016 two new IPL franchises were introduced to make up for the absence of CSK and RR. One of the franchises was based from Pune and the management decided to make Dhoni their leader.
RPS was having a torrid season as most of their players were getting injured. Peter Handscomb was one of the signings by the Pune franchise, and he played 2 matches in that season. He did not bat against GL and was able to score only 6 runs in his outing against MI and was dropped for the next season. Handscomb may have learned about batting and keeping by sharing the dressing room with MSD as he played 2 games under his leadership.
Dhoni was a successful leader in all his tourneys and many players have played under his captaincy. Some players were lucky enough to play a lot of games under him but there are people who have just played a handful of matches which the fans may not remember.
