Andrew Tye is a former IPL Purple Cap winner, but in the last two seasons, the Australian player has looked like a shadow of his former self. The batsmen seem to have understood his bowling style and variations as they have scored a lot of runs off his bowling in the last two IPL season. Tye played for KXIP last year and picked up three wickets in six matches at an economy rate of 10.59.

The Mohali-based franchise released him and then RR signed him in the auction. The team management did not use him in the playing XI during the first few matches. However, he got a chance to play against the Delhi Capitals.

Tye proved to be very expensive with the ball as he gave away 50 runs in his four overs and picked only one wicket. Expectedly, he got dropped from the playing XI and perhaps, he may lose his place in the squad soon.
