Pune franchise was bagged by Sanjeev Goenka’s ‘New Rising’ and thanks to their lowest bid, Pune earned the advantage of picking the first player. While the agenda of Pune would be crisp and clear, that is, to maintain the successful core of the two-time IPL Champions Chennai Superkings, it would be interesting to see what they lineup with.

Among all the players in the auction pool, it is certain that the Indian limited overs skipper will receive the most interest, unless it spins out otherwise. MS Dhoni might not have been in the best form in the recent times but his leadership credentials will be something that the Pune Side will be looking to get. MS Dhoni, who has played 129 matches for CSK, has won 78 matches with a win percentage of 60.93 – the highest by any skipper. Since Pune will get a chance to bid first, they would try to rope in the Indian National and make a core team around the leader.
