5 Youngsters to watch out for in Asia Cup T20 2016

The five-nation Asia Cup is all set to begin from 24th February in Bangladesh. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and one qualifying Associate Nation will compete in the competition. As far as the teams are concerned, there have been a couple of surprising inclusions in each of the full member teams. Asia Cup is a big platform for ‘promising’ players to make their name as a worthy player. There are many emerging talents who have shown their abilities and have the capability to grab the eyeballs with their performances. Therefore, we try to list out the five players to watch out for in Asia Cup T20 2016. 1. Hardik Pandya (India): Hardik Pandya. Pandya has been marked as the seam bowling all-rounder for the future, given his ability bowl nippy seam up and hard-hitting prowess. The ambitious youngster hasn’t got a real chance to showcase his talent fully. The T20 format is his specialty and he would be eager to create a unique niche for himself in the team going into this tournament. 2. Rumman Raees (Pakistan): (Photo Source: Crictales.com) Rumman Raees was a surprise pick in the Asia Cup squad and will look forward to capitalizing the opportunity which has come his way. Raees has had a quiet PSL season playing for the Islamabad United. However, the 24-year-old left-arm seamer has been a very productive bowler in the domestic circuit, has loads of first-class experience to bank upon. It would be interesting to see whether how Raees manages to handle the pressure of international cricket. 3. Dushmantha Chameera (Sri Lanka): (© Ishara S.KODIKARA/AFP/Getty Images) Dushmantha Chameera is the best fast bowling talent to have come from the Island nation in a few years. The skinny youngster has the naturally fast and has the additional dimension of accuracy to it, which makes him special. Chameera’s talent was on display during the away tour to New Zealand when he cleaned up Ross Taylor with a 146 kmph ripper. The Lankans would surely want to nurture this talent by pitting him against the best teams in Asia. He can spring a surprise at the opposition. After all, he has all quality to be successful at the top level. 4. Mustafizur Rahman (Bangladesh): Mustafizur Rahman. Mustafizur Rahman has been one of the main reason behind Bangladesh’s supreme performance last year where they remained unbeaten at home. The left armer has distinctive wicket and match taking attributes. He has been spectacular with the ball in the limited overs format where he ended with 26 wickets in 9 ODIs and 6 wickets in 5 T20Is at and economy of under 6 runs in both forms. It would be interesting to see whether Rahman continues his exploits or would get tamed by the opposition. 5. Rashid Khan (Afghanistan): Afghanistan cricketer Rashid Khan. (Photo Source: Twitter) Rashid Khan would be the youngest cricketer in this completion. Aged 17, the teenage leg-spinner from Afghanistan had a satisfying debut on the tour of Zimbabwe. Rashid was also outstanding in the U19 World Cup where he claimed 10 wickets from 6 matches and was the highest wicket-taker for his team. He would definitely be one of the talents to keep an eye on.
