Having someone like Dinesh Karthik in the lower-middle order allows the likes of Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, and <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2022-pitch-invader-arrested-after-giving-fist-bumps-to-virat-kohli-rohit-sharma-during-rcb-vs-mi-clash/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Virat Kohli </a>to play their natural game.
Last season, he managed to score just 223 runs in 17 matches at an average of 22.30. There were even calls for him to be dropped from the KKR&#8217;s playing XI after he handed over the captaincy to Eoin Morgan. However, Dinesh Karthik has answered his critics in style this season and will hope to continue with his match-winning performances with the bat as RCB chase their maiden IPL title.

<h3>4. Rahul Chahar</h3>

After having a few good seasons with <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/?page=2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mumbai Indians</a>, Rahul Chahar had an uneventful outing in 2021. Although he picked up 13 wickets last season, he didn&#8217;t have much of an impact as he failed to pick wickets during important moments in the game. Moreover, Chahar was even dropped from the playing XI to accommodate Jayant Yadav towards the end of the 2021 season.
The young spinner changed his base to Punjab in the new season. Rahul Chahar, who has been designated as the lead spinner for Punjab Kings has already put up some impressive displays so far. The leg-spinner has seven scalps to his name in four matches at an average of 14.43. What has been more impressive about the young spinner is that he has been very economical with the ball, conceding just under 6.31 runs per over on an average.
He picked up three wickets in his four-over spell against Chennai Super Kings, whilst conceding just 25 runs. Besides, he has contributed with the bat in the lower-order, scoring an unbeaten 22 against Gujarat Titans in their last fixture. With the T20 World Cup lined up for this year in Australia, Rahul Chahar will look to continue the good work and make a strong point for his selection.

<h3>5. Liam Livingstone</h3>

The hard-hitting all-rounder from England, Liam Livingstone failed to display his batting prowess in IPL last season. Over the years, he has earned a reputation of being a fearless striker who can clear the fence with ease. We saw a glimpse of his abilities at the T20 World Cup last year, where he smashed Kagiso Rabada for three sixes in a single over.
Although he was slow to get off the blocks, Liam Livingstone has certainly made his mark for <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2022-3-changes-mi-need-to-make-for-their-game-against-pbks/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Punjab Kings</a> so far in IPL 2022. After being dismissed for consecutive scores of 19 in the first two games, Livingstone smashed 60 runs off just 32 balls against Chennai Super Kings, and also managed to pick up two wickets with the ball.
Against Gujarat Titans, the 28-year-old cricketer put on an even better display, scoring 64 runs off just 27 balls, which included four maximums and seven boundaries. IPL is a long tournament, and we are just in the initial stages, hence it remains to be seen if Liam Livingstone can turn out to be a consistent performer for Punjab Kings and lead them to their maiden IPL title.
