3. KL Rahul
Despite showing multiple promises and having sheer talent, KL Rahul has turned out to be a disappointment at the biggest stage when it mattered the most. He has been one of the best batsmen of the IPL in recent times and used to be quite good at the international level too. The Karnataka born cricketer has quite a good range of shots and a very sound technique.
Nonetheless, due to some reason, the ace batsman has looked completely lost in the recently-concluded World Cup. Even though he scored a good no. of runs in the tourney, the 27-year-old played with very strange gameplay. His temperament and intent have gone down drastically and his level of confidence looks zero. Thus, KL should be rather playing “A” games, at this moment and get back his sublime touch.
In the World Cup tournament, which ended as a horror show for many Indian fans, Rahul has shown some gumption. His tale of a happy-go-lucky player ended in surreality as India’s Cup exit. Rahul scored two tons and a half-century in the tournament. But, couldn’t hog the limelight as the ‘Hitman’ Rohit Sharma overshadowed the Karnataka batsman’s show.
