Dinesh Karthik – Royal Challengers Bangalore
Dinesh Karthik was not a regular part of the Indian team in 2014 and 2015 but the Indian wicket-keeper batsman earned a lot through his IPL contracts. Delhi Daredevils had signed him for 12.5 Crore in 2014. Karthik had a decent outing in that season as he scored 325 runs in 14 matches.
Though he performed well, Delhi Daredevils released him from their squad before the next season. He entered the auction room in 2015 and ignited a bidding war once again. This time, Royal Challengers Bangalore emerged as the winners with a bid of 10.5 Crores.
As Bangalore already had Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers in their squad, they became the favorites to win the cup in 2015. However, Karthik failed to take advantage of the flat wicket in Bangalore. He featured in all the matches yet ended the season with just 141 runs. The wicket-keeper batsman averaged just 12.81 in IPL 2015.
