The 31-year-old leg spinner took important wickets in Faf du Plessis and David Willey and was also involved in the run-out of his former captain <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/what-hes-able-to-do-is-nearly-superhuman-shane-watson-keeps-virat-kohli-on-top-of-his-fab-5-list/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Virat Kohli</a>. Chahal has in superlative form this season, picking up 11 wickets in four games at an average of below 10. He is currently the highest wicket-taker in the ongoing edition of IPL.
However, RCB not retaining Chahal raised many eyebrows. The leg-spinner has always been among the wickets for the Bangalore franchise, giving them crucial breakthroughs. He has taken a total of 139 wickets for RCB across eight seasons. His best season was in 2015 when he scalped 23 wickets in 15 matches.

<h3>2. Shreyas Iyer (54 runs against Delhi Capitals)</h3>

In Match 19 of IPL 2022, Kolkata Knight Riders played against Delhi Capitals in Mumbai’s Brabourne stadium. Asked to bat first by Shreyas Iyer, Delhi posted a mammoth 215 runs in 20 overs. An opening partnership of 93 runs between Prithvi Shaw and David Warner set the platform for the Delhi franchise. In reply, Kolkata could only manage 171, but Shreyas stood out, scoring a half-century. He was the only batsman who gave his former franchise a fight.
Shreyas Iyer and the Delhi franchise go long back. He was a crucial part of their batting line-up which included players such as Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant. The Mumbai-based batsman was also handed captaincy, mid-way in the 2018 season and went on to lead them until 2021.
An injury forced him out of the first half of IPL 2021 and <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/rishabh-pant-guides-me-well-from-behind-the-stumps-enjoying-environment-at-delhi-capitals-kuldeep-yadav/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rishabh Pant</a> was handed the captaincy. Although Shreyas Iyer made a comeback in the second half, Delhi continued to retain Pant as captain. Eventually, he decided to part ways with the franchise and enter the mega auction. He was picked by KKR for a whooping INR 12.25 crore and was later announced as their captain.

After Shreyas Iyer, Match 19 of IPL 2022 brought another match-up in our hands when Kuldeep Yadav faced Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). His four wickets against his former franchisee certainly won may hearts. He won the player-of-the-match award for the match winning performance. One can say revenge well taken by the leg-spinner, who was not utilised well by the Kolkata franchise.
His four wickets included Shreyas Iyer, <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/seen-dre-russ-do-that-but-pat-its-unbelievable-coach-brendon-mccullum-praises-pat-cummins-after-record-knock/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pat Cummins</a>, Sunil Narine and Umesh Yadav. While, he was out of the second leg of IPL 2021 due to injury, Kuldeep almost warmed the bench for the last couple of seasons in KKR. The cricketer from Uttar Pradesh was not in his best of forms, and the franchisee did not back him either.
We are certainly seeing the old Kuldeep back this season, who has already claimed 10 wickets in four games. His old partner Yuzvendra Chahal has also taken 11 wickets this season. Will we see the duo, popularly known as ‘Kulcha’ return to the Indian side? Only time will tell.
