Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 is just around the corner and the preparations are in full flow. The cricket extravaganza kick starts from 6th of April and will go on for two long months. The league has been in news for all the wrong reasons lately but that will hardly have any effect on its proceedings.
Teams have been hit with injuries and the players are pulling out of the tiresome schedule of this season as for right after the final international players have to travel to England for the Champions Trophy. Many players are not willing to risk playing in the IPL and getting injured again. There are some of the star players who decided against playing in this cash-rich league which is entering its 10th year.
Here are the five top players who pulled out of the Indian Premier League 2017 edition.
1. Dale Steyn
Dale has been injured for a long period of time. He injured his right shoulder while playing against the Australians in Perth in November 2016. The injury was gruesome as he broke the bone of his right shoulder and was ruled out for six months. Gujarat Lions, his employers decided to release him from the team.
Even though he has now recovered to an extent he is not in the shape to play any cricket right now. The South African speedster is enjoying his life away from cricket with going on some trips with the family. He is itching to get back on the field but it is not the right time as he is completely fit yet. The South African confirmed the same on Twitter.
