Since 2008, Robin Uthappa has been on the radar of a number of IPL franchises. He was a part of six different franchises, including MI, RCB, PWI, KKR, RR, and CSK. His best season came in the year 2014 where he earned the Orange Cap and was instrumental in the journey of KKR’s 2nd IPL title.

After his tenure with KKR, he moved on to Rajasthan Royals, where he did not fare well. For the franchise, he was underwhelmed and was largely used out of his positions. The Karnataka batter was then traded to the Chennai franchise, where he did not appear in a game until Raina was injured.

He made the best use of his limited opportunities and guided CSK with an impressive win against Delhi Capitals by scoring 63 off 44 deliveries in Qualifier-1. He again played a very crucial knock of 31 off just 15 balls with three sixes and helped CSK put on a formidable total on the board. With his recent IPL performances, he should definitely be in the scheme of things for the franchises despite his age.
