Nasser Hussain was one of the most enigmatic captains England have produced. He managed to dictate terms to the opposition, both as a leader and as a batsman. The Chennai-born scored over 8,000 runs for the Brits in a career which spanned 14 years from 1990 to 2004. But apart from his batting, Hussain was also a handy leg-spinner.

In fact, in first-class cricket, he picked up a couple of wickets. Even in international cricket, he has tried his hand in bowling. Back in December 1999, during the Test match against South Africa at the Kingsmead in Durban, Hussain gave a glimpse of his bowling abilities.

In the final innings of the game, the visitors used nine bowlers, one of whom was Hussain. He bowled five overs and gave away 15 runs. That turned out to be the only time when he bowled.
