<p>Big Bash League (BBL) was established by Cricket Australia (CA) in 2011 as the country&#8217;s premier T20 league tournament and the first edition of the tournament took place in 2011-12. The viewership for the tournament is quite high and the crowd attendance is astonishing at times. The tournament has been a massive success over the years and women&#8217;s BBL has also started.</p>
<p>Australia has always had one of the best cricketing talents and hence, the overseas contingent in the tournament has been put in the shadows by the local talents most times. A lot of popular names have taken part in the tournament and the platform could be used to make an entry into the international side as well given the competitiveness.</p>
<p>Eight teams namely, Adelaide Strikers, <strong><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/melbourne-renegades-to-get-first-pick-in-bbl-overseas-draft-for-2022-23-season/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Melbourne Renegades</a></strong>, Melbourne Stars, Sydney Sixers, Sydney Thunder, Hobart Hurricanes, Perth Scorchers, and Brisbane Heat take on each other in group stages. The top five teams qualify for the playoffs to determine the finalists. The winner of the tournament receives a cash prize of $450,000 which is equal to INR 2.48 Crores while the runner-up receives $260,000. The two losing semi-finalists receive $80,000 while the fifth-placed team gets $20,000.</p>

<p>Indian Premier League (IPL) no doubt, is the most popular T20 league going around the world and its success is quite evident in the way the tournament has been structured. While <strong><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/bcci-to-adopt-new-cost-effective-software-to-detect-age-frauds/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BCCI</a></strong> has strictly not allowed the Indian contracted players to not participate in other T20 leagues, the money involved in the tournament is quite high compared to the other leagues.</p>
<p>The fans gather in numbers for the matches and the two months are often celebrated like a festival inside the country. The first edition of the tournament was held in 2008 with Rajasthan Royals emerging as the winners. The current champions are Gujarat Titans while Mumbai Indians have been the most successful tournament with five titles to their name, followed by the highly popular Chennai Super Kings.</p>
<p>IPL&#8217;s introduction has taken the game to the next level in the country and a lot of talent has been identified from different parts. Previously eight teams took part, while the number increased to ten this year and the top four qualify for the playoffs to determine the finalists. The winner of the tournament gets INR 20 Crores, while the runner-up receives INR 13 Crores. The third and fourth-placed team gets INR 6.5 Crores each, which is way more than the other cricketing leagues.</p>
