Everything has clicked perfectly for MS Dhoni and his men from batting to bowling to fielding and catching. Opposition teams knew they had to deal with the Indian batting lineup, but had comfort in knowing that India’s bowling was nothing to write home about, but Umesh Yadav, Mohit Sharma and Mohd. They have dismissed every opponent they have played and have a very good NRR. Both batting and bowling have shown when they were called upon. Hundreds from Dhawan and Kohli and fifties from Rahane and Dhoni means that every batsman in Indian team is in form. They have troubled the likes of Hashim Amla, Ahmed Shehzad and Chris Gayle and have been economical and destructive when needed. The surprise package turned out to be Mohit Sharma, who replaced Ishant Sharma and who has been the go to man for Dhoni. Need wickets put Mohit on, need some quiet overs, Mohit is given the ball. Dhoni loves that Mohit has so many variations and he can use him whenever he wants. The fast bowlers are ably supported by spinners in R.Ashwin and part-timers Suresh Raina. The only player to not have made any significant contributions in games against Test playing nations is Rohit Sharma, but Dhoni has enough confidence in him to keep opening with him. The batting is India’s major strength. The support they are getting from the bowlers is just the icing on the cake. The pressure on batsmen has reduced with bowlers performing admirably. India is known to chase down big totals and hence need to have their batting in top form.
