5 Reasons Why India lost the ODI series to Bangladesh: After a superb run in the World Cup, winning 7 of their 8 matches, the Indian team suffered a dreadful setback in the bilateral series against Bangladesh, losing two matches on a trot, thereby losing the series without posing tokens of threat to the Bangladeshis. There have been a number of wrong doings in the series by the Men in Blue and they had to pay severe price for the same. Starting from bowling to batting, India were simply outplayed and outnumbered by this young, a rejuvenated, regrouped Bangladesh unit in all the aspects and they did managed to win quite comprehensively against the World Cup semi finalists on both the matches.

To make an anatomy of the disastrous loss, here we enlighten upon the 5 Reasons Why India lost the ODI series to Bangladesh.

1. Flaws in Team Selection:

As a matter of fact, the selection committee did miss a trick by dropping some of the classy performers of IPL and relying onto the almost same World Cup squad. Also, the final XI that was picked seemed to be somewhat illogical to an extent. Dropping Binny, who has been the star performer of the last series to Bangladesh and could well utilise Bangladeshi pitches to good effect, with his seam bowling- was not a wise decision. Also, benching Rahane in the second ODI and placing Rayudu in place of him is not what was expected. The in-form Umesh Yadav was also rested and was replaced by Dhawal Kulkarni in the second ODI. The turmoil in playing XI was clearly noted as 3 changes were being made in the second ODI. And an out-of touch and out of form Ravindra Jadeja has continued to be the favourite son of the management, retaining his position even after unimpressive shows at the world cup and the IPL.
