5 Reasons Why India lost the ODI series to Bangladesh: After a superb run in the World Cup, winning 7 of their 8 matches, the Indian team suffered a dreadful setback in the bilateral series against Bangladesh, losing two matches on a trot, thereby losing the series without posing tokens of threat to the Bangladeshis. There have been a number of wrong doings in the series by the Men in Blue and they had to pay severe price for the same. An instance of the same is Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, who was allowed to bowl 5 overs in the power-play overs of the Bangladeshi innings in the second match. India needed to strike wickets and Bhuvaneshwar did not find the least of his rhythm. Still the skipper struck to the mindsets and restrained to replace him with a spinner in the first 10 overs. Also, in the first ODI, Dhoni had made field setups in order to resist the scoring rate. Little attacking measures to strike wickets were seen. He was least effective with the ball in both the matches. Axar Patel was a part of the XI in the second ODI but even he failed to make a commanding impact to the game. And, India genuinely felt the lack of a match-winning all-rounder. It is high time now that the selection committee have to act smart to judge Jadeja’s place in the squad.
