He is a Team man, no doubt about that. He usually displays that with the bat, but since that has taken a back seat. He decided to show his love for the Team by saying, “I told the boys today that the result did not matter and we had to enjoy ourselves. Hum jeete hai saath mein, toh haarenge bhi saath mein.”

There were of course moments that he acknowledged too, because the captain in him would never underrate the efforts, that is very unlike Kohli too. He rated the Pujara-Rahane partnership as their No.1 in the last two years and appreciated Ishant and Saha’s effort during the end.

He was on an unbeaten streak as captain before the loss in Pune, and in that duration, the team grabbed some stellar victories but Virat called this his “sweetest victory so far.” Since they have now gained momentum in the series, he is raring to go to Ranchi. He said, “Ranchi is going to be very competitive. I can’t wait to go there. From here on we are going to push the momentum and the team is not going to look back from here on.” And obviously, we can’t wait either.
