2. Most runs scored in Test cricket when at the crease

Often the balls faced, minutes batted and the runs scored by Rahul Dravid get a mention in the batting records he holds in Test cricket. But Dravid holds one more Test batting record by virtue of his longevity at the crease. Rahul was involved in a total of 32039 partnership runs in Test cricket which include the runs by Dravid, runs scored by his batting partners and also the extras.

Only two players till date have been part of 30000+ partnership runs in Test cricket. Dravid was the first to achieve this feat while Sachin Tendulkar joined his teammate as Indian team aggregated 31245 runs when Sachin was at the crease. Dravid was involved in 738 partnerships in his career out of which 88 were century stands. No other player involved in as many century stands as Rahul in Test cricket.

Tendulkar is close next with 86 stands in excess of 100 runs. Dravid also witnessed a total of 453 wickets falling during his stay at the crease. He is one of the two players to have seen the fall of more than 400 wickets in this format. Shivnarine Chanderpaul tops this list as a total of 519 wickets of West Indies fell while the left-hander was at the crease.
