But, even though the landmark was reached by many stars, no one ever did it as many innings as Sachin.
Tendulkar had been the fastest to 10,000 ODI runs for a long time. He got there in just 259 innings, but Kohli had other ideas. In 2018, during the India-West Indies ODI match in Vizag, Kohli surpassed 10,000 ODI runs in just his 205th innings, becoming the fastest to get there.
He also holds the record of the fastest batsman to get 8000, 9000 and 11000 ODI runs. As a matter of fact, he needs to score just 133 runs in the next 60 innings to become the fastest ever to 12,000 runs. Considering the ODI records of the current cricketers, it is safe to assume that this record will stay with Kohli for a long time.

Scoring double centuries in Tests has become certainly difficult in recent times. The pitches have got a bit balanced in the past few years, hence offering much more to bowlers than before. Earlier, all we had were flat tracks which could support batting for more than two days.
Until captaincy came to him, Kohli had no first-class double tons but the responsibility got the better from him. In 2016, Kohli scored his first double ton in Tests against<a href="https://www.crictracker.com/5-biggest-controversies-in-west-indies-cricket/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> West Indies</a>. He then followed it up with three more in the next few months.
Now in 2020, Kohli has seven double centuries, most by any Indian. However, he also holds the record having scored the most number of double centuries as the captain of any side. The previous was held by Brain Lara of West Indies with five centuries. This record is likely to stay or we might even see Kohli adding a few more double tons before signing off.
