Jimmy Neesham is one of the best all-rounders in the world and his contributions to the New Zealand team’s success has been quite good in recent times. When he was picked by the Kings XI Punjab for the IPL 2020, a lot was expected out of him. However, he had a tournament to forget. He played only five matches in the league, where he could manage only 19 runs. He got only two wickets in these matches and had an economy close to 10.

A season like that made Kings XI releases him. He wasn’t batting good enough to play in the side as a proper batsman, nor was he giving the captain Rahul good enough overs with the ball. Having been released from the side, Neesham will go into auction in 2021, with little or no hope.

The Kiwi all-rounder has had his share of good performances for the national team but has failed to replicate that in the franchise T20 cricket. He had also featured in the Caribbean Premier League for a few seasons, where his bowling was effective but in the IPL, he couldn’t do much good.
